Does PixSort change or delete anything in Apple Photos?
No. PixSort only reads your library to import private copies. It never deletes, moves, or edits anything in the Photos app — your originals are always safe there.
Where are my photos stored, and does anything get uploaded?
Everything stays on your device (and your own iCloud, if you use it). Nothing is uploaded to us or shared with anyone. All AI runs on-device.
Why does PixSort use extra storage?
Because it keeps its own copies of what you import, that media exists twice — once in Apple Photos and once in PixSort. You can import at a space-saving "reduced resolution" to use less space, and you can delete the originals in the Photos app yourself once you're comfortable.
How do I organise photos?
Imports land in the Inbox. File them into albums to clear it out. A photo can live in several albums with no extra copies. Use Search to find things in plain English, and tag people or objects.
How do I hide private albums?
Set a passcode in Settings, then hide an album — it disappears from the app until you unlock.
How do I get photos back out?
Use Export to save lossless copies to Files (iCloud Drive, a USB drive, or any provider) or share via AirDrop, Messages and Mail. Your Apple Photos originals also always remain available.
I forgot my hidden-album passcode.
For your privacy the passcode isn't recoverable. You can remove it in Settings and set a new one; your photos remain, and (since Apple Photos is untouched) your originals are always available there.
PixSort — a private, on-device photo organiser. Apple Photos remains your source of truth and backup.
